Happy Friday,
Not an outstanding week last week, but a bounceback from a horrific week prior. Any positive week is a good week.
3-2 last week, and now sitting at 8-8 on the season, .500. Let’s see if we can get above the 50% mark this week.
North Carolina Tarheels (+3.5) at Miami Hurricans
The Tarheels head south to Miami this weekend to take on the U. The Hurricanes are coming off a embarressing loss to Middle Tennessee State last week, and are looking for a bounceback after back to back losses. However, they aren’t going to find success this week against UNC. Drake Maye currenly has the 3rd best QBR in the country, and hasn’t let off the gas this season – being tied for the lead in college football with 19 passing TD’s along with NCAA lead 1 INT this year. I don’t see how Tyler Van Dyke, who was benched in the 3rd quarter last week, and his 101st overall QBR this season can put it together enough to beat a 4-1 Tarheels squad.
Liberty Flames (-24) At UMASS minutemen
The Minutemen could possibly be the worst team overall in college football. They are averaging 67 passing yards per game… and they don’t run the triple option…however they are rushing for 182 per game. The Flames offense will be too much to handle for the UMass defense, and the Liberty defense should easily handle the lack luster offense that they are facing. There isn’t much more to say other than the fact that UMass is not good on either side of the ball, and Liberty is.
Los Angeles Chargers (-1.5) at Cleveland Browns
Home dawgs is always something to be weary of, but it’s just plain and simple – clear cut… the Browns are not better than the Chargers. The Chargers have not been the team they were expected to be, but that is due to the lack of production from Austin Ekeler (until last week) and Justin Herbert being injured. However, that does not change the simple fact that the Browns have not been a good football team. They have given away wins this year, Jacob Brissett is questionable at best when in the pocket, barely beat a bad Panthers team, and they can only rely on Chubb and Hunt so much. If you have no passing game, the run game isn’t going to get the job done in todays NFL. The Chargers defense has not been anything special, and lucky for them they are facing an absimal offense.

Tennessee Titans (ML) at Washington Commanders
I think it is to the point in the season where we have to pick against the Commanders until they prove us wrong. Their defense isn’t good, their offense is worse, and the biggest highlight coming out of the team is that their rookie runningback, who was shot, is returning. He is coming off of GUNSHOT WOUNDS and has never played an NFL snap, and was a 3rd round pick. This isn’t a first round runningback who is supposed to be the face of the franchise. That just shows you how much positive energy is around the Commanders.
The Titans have had some rough games, and losing Taylor Lewan isn’t any help, but lucky for them they get to go into Washington and play a bad Commanders team this week. -1.5 feels like a steal… and we know what has happened in previous weeks… TRAP. But, here I am again going with my gut.

Matthew Stafford to throw interception
As a Matthew Stafford supporter, the man is a Hall of Famer, it is tough to put this out there. Currently -134 (Barstool Sportsbook), the chance of him throwing an interception far outweighs those odds. Stafford only has eyes for Cooper Kupp and it’s very apparent by the lack of production from any other player on the field. 6 INT’s through 4 games, multiple in the last two games and has no offensive line help. Now, this week the Rams host the Cowboys, who have a great pass rush and a solid defensive back core – including ball hawk Trevon Diggs. Like I said, I hate putting this one out there, but it’s just a best pick of the week and no hard feelings toward Stafford (I know he cares what I think about him).
Again, I am not an expert and these are just my suggestions and bets I like this week in football. Play at your own risk, and as always – gamble responsibly!
Till Next Time,
Trevor
