Super Bowl LVII

For the first time in history, the Super Bowl will feature two black starting quarterbacks when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles square off in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 11th

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs squeaked out a win vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to head to their 3rdSuper Bowl in 5 seasons. Narrowly defeating the Bengals, the Chiefs were the beneficiaries of multiple Referee blunders, as well as a costly penalty (which was a good call, shockingly compared to the rest of the ref’s calls during the game) with 8 seconds remaining when Patrick Mahomes was unnecessarily roughed for an extra 15 yards, moving the Chiefs into field goal range to win the game.

Jalen Hurts and his Eagles handed the 49ers a tough loss during the early kick off of the day, with a 31-7 victory in Philadelphia. The 49ers were already playing with their (hero) 3rd string QB, Brock Purdy, but when Purdy went down with an elbow injury early they were forced to rely on Josh Johnson. However, the 4thstringer went down with an injury as well… meaning the entire offense relied on the run-game and the Eagles were prepped for it. The Eagles were the favorites in the game, so it was no surprise they were victors, however the final point differential was interesting.

Looking forward to the big game, the game opened as a Pick’em however the line as since shifted to Eagles -1.5, and potentially by the time this is posted, higher.

Some fun notes about this game:

Till Next Time,
