Reid Detmers joins No-Hitter Family

In a wild game in Anaheim tonight, Los Angeles Angels rookie Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays. Only striking out 2, Detmers finished the night having allowed 2 base runners, one on a error by Jared Walsh and another via walk. But the big goose egg under the “H” column is all that matters.

Detmers said after the game when asked when he realized it was a possibility, “I blacked out”. What a quote from the 22-year old. The former Angels first-round pick becomes the 12th Angels pitcher to throw a no-hitter and the youngest to do so.

What a night in Southern California. Congratulations to Reid Detmers.
