Happy Baseball Season!

Spring Training games begin today and I couldn’t be happier. There is nothing like baseball, and now we finally have it back in our lives.

This offseason was very interesting, and I’m sure you forgot some random moves that happened this offseason, so let me give you a quick run down.

Stayed Home

No one cares about these moves since they weren’t exciting unless you are a fan of their team. The only exciting one was Carlos Correa, who signed with 2 teams, and then ended up returning to the Twins in one of the WEIRDEST stories in free agent history.

Aaron Judge – 9 year / $360 Million ($40m per year)
Clayton Kershaw – 1 / $20m
Carlos Correa – 6 / $200m ($33.33m)
Edwin Diaz – 5 / $100m ($20m)
Anthony Rizzo – 2 / $40m ($20m)

There are countless guys who resigned, but these are just some of the more well known players.

He Signed There?

Here are a couple of guys you might have forgotten left their team and signed…wait where? They may not be MVP caliber players like Judge and gotten the free agency coverage that others did, but they are fan favorites, All-Stars, and known players.

Justin Turner – Boston Red Sox (2/21)
Josh Bell – Cleveland Guardians (2/33)
Craig Kimbrel – Philadelphia Phillies (1/10)
Joey Gallo – Minnesota Twins (1/10)
Kenley Jansen – Boston Red Sox (2/32)
Noah Syndergaard – Los Angeles Dodgers (1/13)
Evan Longoria – Arizona Diamondbacks (1/4)
Aroldis Chapman – Kansas City Royals (1/3.75)

Some randoms: Trey Mancini – Cubs, Jameson Taillon – Cubs, Nathan Eovaldi – Texas Rangers, Andrew Benintendi – White Sox, Mike Clevinger – White Sox, J.D. Martinez – Dodgers, Johnny Cueto – Marlins, Wil Myers – Reds, Matt Carpenter – Padres, Corey Kluber – Red Sox

The Headliners

Here are just some reminders (I’m not including their contracts here). Just a quick reminder of who left to new teams.

Trea Turner – Philadelphia Phillies
Xander Bogaerts – San Diego Padres
Jacob deGrom – Texas Rangers
Dansby Swanson – Chicago Cubs
Carlos Rodon – New York Yankees
Justin Verlander – New York Mets
Jose Abreu – Houston Astros
Cody Bellinger – Chicago Cubs
Wilson Contreras – St. Louis Cardinals

Just a quick recap of the offseason for you.

Till Next Time,
Trevor
