The coaching legend Mike Leach has passed away at age 61, according to the Mississippi State officials. Leach was hospitalized this week following a heart attack, and has succum to complications from a heart condition Monday night.
Coach Leach spent time as the head coach the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Washington State Cougars, and currently served as the coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Leach’s “Air Raid” offense changed the college football land scape during his time at Texas Tech.
During his head coaching career, he would win National Coach of the year in 2018, along with 3 conference coach of the year awards in the Big-12 and Pac-12.
A legend on and off the field, Leach was known for his dry humor and…well, interesting…takes and sayings to the media and in social media posts.
Mike Leach will be missed by many and his impact on the game will not be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Leach family and those effected by this devastating loss.
Till Next Time,
Trevor
