Happy Monday,
Since 1951, the AFC and NFC have faced off in the annual NFL Pro Bowl, however it will now be a thing of the past.
The NFL announced this morning that it will be replacing the Pro Bowl game with “games”, which include “skills competitions and flag football”.
This could be a big win for the NFL, who’s all-star game has been a mockery for the last decade. Players do not play full tilt because they do not want to risk injury, it is after the season and has no meaning other than players playing for some extra money, and the entire event as a whole has been verbally abused for years. For years people have been throwing out ideas of how the NFL could make their all-star weekend better, and the league has done nothing about it until now.
While there are no official details about specific events and the parameters of the flag football aspect, the league is actually listening to fans for the first time and making necessary changes to promote the best players in the league. The NFL is expected to announce official details at some point today.
Till Next Time,
Trevor
