This week the NFL led sports headlines. Aaron Rodgers resigned with the Packers, Carson Wentz and Russell Wilson were traded, and even today, Kalil Mack was sent to the Chargers.
But, the one thing that the NFL couldn’t top was… THE RETURN OF BASEBALL.
Today the MLB and MLBPA finally reached an agreement allowing the sport to return in all it’s glory. We now not only have a season to look forward to, but we also get to look forward to trades and free agency that the lockout that has been happening for months has taken away from us.
This upcoming season will be a little different with some agreed upon rules in the new agreement. For starters, the heinous runner on second base in extra innings – GONE. But, the biggest (in my eyes) thing to come out of this is the fact that the NL will now have the DH. This is going to change free agent signings, trades, and the game itself.
Where will Trevor Story sign? And Freddie Freeman? How about Clayton Kershaw and Carlos Correa?
There is so much excitement in the area with the rumors already flying, however nothing tops the sheer fact that the sport is going to have a season, and we fans will not be deprived of missing out on a nothing year in the stellar careers of those like Mike Trout and Jacob deGrom.
Baseball is back, and I couldn’t be happier.
Till Next Time,
Trevor
