Championship Weekend Predictions

Happy Saturday,

Considering the Trojans got slaughtered last night, I do not want to be here today… but hey, they are just a bunch of college kids I don’t know (who I let predict my mood).

So, let’s get some predicitions for today’s slate of College Football’s Confrence Championship Weekend:

#10 Kansas State Wildcats vs. #5 TCU Horned Frogs

Rematch of the regular season matchup where at one point in the game, KSU had a 91.2% chance to win (according to ESPN), and an 18-point lead. the score at the time was 28-10, and the final score was 38-28 TCU. Grated, injuries did happen to Quarterbacks and other significant players, but none the less.

Kansas State gave the game away, they know what it takes to beat the Horned Frogs…however, both teams are different teams. It’s not going to be a cake walk by any means, but TCU has shown multiple games this year that they are beatable, but opposing teams have let them come out with wins. I like the Wildcats here to play spoiler in the College Football Playoff (even though TCU probably still gets in with USC loss last night).

Prediction: Kansas State 36 – TCU 35

#14 LSU Tigers vs. #1 Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia has been the most dominant team in football the past two seasons. Last years team gave some of the best teams in history a run for their money, and then they followed it up this year with countless big wins over big opponents.

LSU on the other hand, somehow sticks around in the rankings despite having 3 losses. They are not a good team, yes they beat a down year Alabama, but they have not handled anyone notable outside of the The Tide. They were run over by Tennessee, and that is the closest team to Georgia that they have played this year…and we saw what Georgia did to Tennessee.

Prediction: Georgia 31 – LSU 10

#22 UCF Knights vs. #18 Tulane Green Wave

UCF is always good, and recently Tulane has been respectable. This is your standard American Conference championship, where you see these two teams and think about their past 10 years and think “UCF should run all over Tulane”, however that would be wrong. Tulane is a great football team. But, with that little bit of positivity thrown at the Green Wave, the two teams played a few weeks back and UCF came out victorious, which I believe will be the same case today.

Predicton: UCF 42 – Tulane 38

Purdue Boilermakers vs. #2 Michigan Wolverines

I wish I could say the Boilermakers are going to put up a fight today, but I just don’t see it. Blake Corum is out for the Wolverines, which could play a factor, but Michigan is just a significantly better team in all aspects of the game than Purdue. While Purdue does have a better passing game, Big Blue’s defense is #2 in the country in total yards allowed…

Prediction: Michigan 35 – Purdue 7

#9 Clemson vs. #23 North Carolina

This is the game I’m looking forward to the most today. Why? Because Drake Maye (UNC QB) is a stud. I think he has all the makings to be star in college football, and will do so on the biggest stage tonight. Upseting the rival down south would be huge for UNC’s program, as they have had their ups and down’s throughout the year. Clemson is NOT the Clemson of old, and if DJ wasn’t the #1 QB recruit in his class, he would have been benched long ago. Dabo is just buying his time to get through the season and get Klubnik his starting spot.

Prediction: UNC 21 – Clemson 17

I’m probably going to get every winner wrong, and no even close on totals, but hey, it was fun right?

Till Next Time,
Trevor
