Happy Throwback Thursday,
Welcome to “Forget They Played There?” series, where each week we will look at a couple of players who spent a short amount of time with a franchise. Chances are if you are a die-hard fan, you will remember some of these, but I would be willing to say there are some you didn’t know, but most definitely some you forgot.
Zack Greinke – Los Angeles Angels

While some players spend a majority of their career with less than 3 teams, Zack Greinke has spent time with six MLB franchises. His shortest stay however was with the Los Angeles Angels during the 2012 season. Greinke was shipped from the Brewers to the Angels who were hoping to make a playoff run at the deadline for top infield prospect, Jean Segura. Greinke would go on to pitch 13 games for the Halos
David Price – Blue Jays

Although in recent times he has fallen into the struggle bus, Cy Young winner and 5-Time All-Star, David Price, was once one of the top pitchers in the Major Leagues. After establishing himself in the Rays organization, the lefty was sent to the Tigers where he would form the unfathomable rotation of Verlander, Price, Porcello, and Scherzer – four former/future Cy Young Award winners. Well, his time in Detroit did not turn out the way the team planned and he was traded to the Blue Jays, where he would appear in 11 games for the team before signing his mega deal with the Red Sox.
Till Next Time,
Trevor
